Pearl Pod Earrings Sterling silver earrings with white freshwater pearls set in round pods. The pods begin their life as a gall that grow on the underside of oak tree leaves. The pod is carved opened in the front. A cup is then placed inside to hold the freshwater pearls. A rubber mold is made of the entire pod. The item is then transformed into sterling silver using a lost wax casting process. SIZE: From the top of the ear hook, overall length is about 1 3/16 inches long (31mm).
