About the beads:
Baroque Freshwater Pearls: These freshwater pearls are heat treated to create an iridescent sheen in rich earth-tone browns, greens and lavender hues. When pearls have irregular shapes, such as these, they are sometimes called baroque pearls. Each pearl is different, some with darker rings. |
Furnace Beads: Light tan to dark caramel swirls of color in these opaque glass beads. Beads are aproximately 3/4 inches in diameter with a lentil shape. |
Picture Jasper: Picture jasper rectangles are aproximately 1/2 inch by 1/4 inch. Jasper is the common name for chalcedony that is opaque. This particular type of jasper is called 'picture jasper', since the stone can resemble a landscape painting when cut into slabs and polished. |
Bronzite: Beads are 1/2" x 1/2" by 3/16". Bronzite belongs to the pyroxene family of minerals. (Jadeite also belongs to theis group.) In certain lights the bronzite displays a bronze metallic sheen. Interestingly, bronzite displays this metallic sheen in pretty much every light source I could find, except for my camera's light box. On well... |
