Are the beads treated or synthetic?

The beads are real stones. The flashing band of light displayed by the stone is a result of thin fibrous material within the stone that reflects light back to the viewer.

The brown color is naturally occuring, as most tigereye is brown colored. The red color is a result of heating the stone in a specific way. Although this color can be found naturally, usually the stone is heat treated after being mined. The bluish colors of tigereye are also usually treated.
