Q. Is it safe to order from an online store that I've never heard of?
A. Not necessarily. As with all financial transactions, both online and face-to-face, certain precautions should always be taken to assure that your financial information is secure. Q. So, how can I order safely online? A. Although there are a number of precautions that can be taken, we have tried to come up with the best solution possible. It's good for the customer, and good for business. The two major problems with ordering online: 1) Giving your credit card information to someone you do not know, and 2) ordering something, and not getting your order. Solution: 1) Use a trusted third party payment system. We use PayPal payment systems as our third party payment system. By using PayPal, the merchant, (that's us), never has access to your credit information. About PayPal 2) Get guaranteed delivery insurance. Again, by using PayPal's 'Buyer Protection Plan', PayPal assures that you receive your order in a timely manner, or you get your money back. Here's how to use PayPal as your payment choice: Use the shopping cart as normal. After you fill out the 'Shipping Info' page, and click 'next', you will go to the 'Billing Information' page. You do not need to fill out any of the billing information on this page, just choose PayPal as your payment option and click the 'place order' button at the bottom of the page. You will then be given the choice to go to PayPal's website to finish your order. The billing info page will look something like this:
About PayPal: PayPal is the largest third party payment system used online. PayPal is owned and operated by EBay. In the year 2005, PayPal was used in $27 billion dollars worth of online transactions. Worldwide, over 123 million people have PayPal accounts. The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences chose PayPal for Best Financial Services in their 2006 'Webby Awards'. Opinion: Considering name recognition, security and cost, PayPal is the best option for third party e-payments. I feel as safe, or safer giving my credit card info to PayPal than handing my credit card to a checker at a shopping center. |
