Nuggets Bracelet
Irregular-shaped, polished Baltic amber nuggets. Beads are natural nuggets, tumbled and polished, therefore some surface pitting and inclusions are visible. Nuggets are around 1/2" x 5/16". Clasp is sterling silver.

Amber is golden yellow to dark honey-brown with a soft, mellow appearance. Lightweight and warm to the touch, this gemstone is derived from organic matter. The two bracelets just above have a variety of gemstones. B800BR features a combination of natural gemstones, and lampwork beads. Petal designs on the lampwork beads gradually shift to various colors to complement the different colors of the stones.

Amber starts it's life as tree sap. The thing about tree sap, is that it is really sticky. Let's say, you are a small critter scurrying about, and happen to step in said gooey substance. You guessed it- stuck in sap. The Hunterian Museum in Glasgow has some great pics of unfortunate bugs.	The American Museum Of Natural History has an online virtual gallery. The gallery is divided into three sections. The main section, 'In Nature' has a briefly explains the formation of amber. This section also has photographs of specimens with insects and plants embedded within. The second section, discusses varieties, primarily Baltic (succinite) and Dominican. The final section discusses the gemstone use in jewelry and art objects.
